Check whether MP3 is available

MP3 is an optional output for a confirmed separate audio track. VidTote never downloads the whole video just to extract its sound.

MP3 requires a confirmed separate audio track: at most 10 minutes, 20 MiB input and 10 MiB output, at 128 kbps.

Your link goes to VidTote for lookup. The video then travels directly from Facebook’s CDN to your browser.

Use a public video you own or have permission to save. No login or private-content bypass.

Check first, then choose

  1. Copy a public Facebook video link and paste it above.
  2. Select Check audio. The lookup checks available video options and the separate audio capability.
  3. If Save MP3 is available, select it to start conversion. If not, read the stated reason; supported MP4 options remain usable.
  4. Save the resulting file and open it in an audio player. A click alone does not prove a finished file.

A small, bounded conversion

The separate source must have confirmed audio and a known duration of no more than 10 minutes. The input limit is 20 MiB, and the MP3 output limit is 10 MiB at 128 kbps.

Only a supported single-file audio source is accepted. Unknown audio, unknown duration or an unsupported delivery format makes MP3 unavailable. VidTote does not fall back to an MP4 extraction.

One conversion runs at a time. A conversion stops after 120 seconds overall or 20 seconds without output; limits are not bypassed by repeated requests.

MP3 and thumbnails share a daily allowance

The server has a shared 1 GiB output allowance per UTC day for MP3 and thumbnails. This allowance is separate from lookup and browser-direct MP4 saving.

A request reserves its maximum output allowance before processing. Only a complete successful transfer returns unused allowance. Failed or interrupted requests retain their reservation, so the allowance can run out before 1 GiB of usable files has been delivered.

When small-file processing or the daily allowance is unavailable, keep the MP4 option or try MP3 later. Restarting the service does not reset the allowance.

How audio reaches you

For an available MP3, the separate audio is fetched and converted by VidTote within bounded memory, then sent to your browser. Audio and output media are not stored on the server’s disk.

This differs from MP4: video bytes go directly from Facebook’s CDN to your browser. Only use audio you own or have permission to save and use.

Questions

The video plays with sound. Why is MP3 unavailable?

Sound inside a complete MP4 does not prove that a separate usable audio track exists. MP3 also needs a confirmed format, known duration and available server capacity and allowance.
